Barrino plays Celie in the reboot. This is Rhapsody's subsequent time playing Celie, as she assumed the part in the Broadway variant of the show somewhere in the range of 2005 and 2008, not long after she won "American Icon" in 2003.

On Saturday, Barrino, alongside different entertainers went to the screening of the film, which was held at the Majestic Stonecrest at Flautist Glen.
